We’d like to bring to your attention a truly beautiful and inclusive music festival, the Shine Music Festival. Shine Music Fest is an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) inclusive event. The festival is run by a 501 c3 non-profit organization, Shine Music, headquartered in Colorado.

At this year’s festival on August 26th, you’ll have the opportunity to experience artists such as Neal Evans, Dan Africano, Shauna Sweeney, Wanderin Pine, and more. The festival is free or donation-optional, so make sure to get there early to guarantee entrance into the festival. All proceeds from donations go to Shine Music’s mission of making music accessible for all.
Several of the ADA accommodations made include a dance floor that allows festival goers to feel the sounds of the music through vibrations, closed-captioning glasses for subtitles anywhere in the festival, full boy sound devices that turn music into tactile audio stimulations, and sensory zones for neurodivergent festival goers who may become overwhelmed and overstimulated.
Instead of the usual barricaded off areas at concerts and festivals for people who need ADA accommodations, Shine Music has gone the extra mile to make a disability inclusive communal experience so that everyone can enjoy the festival. We hope to see more festivals take these extra steps, but for now, we’re excited to attend Shine Music Festival in Denver.
Check out their website for more information about the festival and for ticket information.
