Yesterday evening, news broke that appears to indicate major changes for the direction of Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival, one of the two Woodstock Anniversary events.
Rather than a three day event, the festival will now be “three separate events over three days” and will be part of the venue’s Season of Song and Celebration, a year-long commemoration including various exhibits programs and events. It is unclear how a three day festival and three days of separate events will differ in substance, but it certainly doesn’t sound like it will be what we all expected.
The new broke, as INVNT, one of the agencies helping put together the festival, announced that it would no longer be producing it.
We will have to wait and see what this means. In the meantime, we are also waiting on lineups from one or both events. Stay tuned for more news.
