Tomorrow morning, some of the LTFL team will be heading out to Panama City Beach, Florida for SandJam Festival. This trip is exciting all on its own, but it also kicks off basically a month of music festival related fun for many of us.
I am feeling a little sentimental (and tired?) tonight, and just wanted to put a post together that highlighted how lucky we are to be at this point with the blog.
Tomorrow morning I will not only be heading down to beautiful, sunny Florida for a festival literally on the beach, I will be going with one of my oldest friends. I think it is pretty rare to have met someone when you were 12 or 13 and to still be friends well into adulthood. Especially if you know how obnoxious I was at that age. But by coincidence or universal plan – my friend Sarah and I have managed to stay in touch and now live only about 10 minutes away from each other in the middle of nowhere in Delaware.
This week has been killer at work and I have been so exhausted. I had a meltdown yesterday about shorts that didn’t arrive in time and I currently have one eyebrow that is half blonde (thanks to salon error) but a festival weekend will fix it all (except maybe the eyebrow). While work has been tough and sometimes things in your personal life are difficult, try to look on the positive side. Tomorrow morning I get to pack up my giant suitcase full of everything I own and don’t need and take my camera and go cover a music festival for this blog. I get to do it on the beach, in the sun and sand, with someone I have known for more than 20 years.
This will be my third festival of the year, and each one provides a different experience. Next weekend part of our team will be in California covering BeachLife Festival. The week after that, I will be in Texas with one of our Texas crew covering KAABOO, and the festivaling will continue throughout the month. Each experience will be unique and fulfilling in its own way. We can’t wait to share it all with you and with each other.
I will take my sappy self to bed now. Tomorrow at this time we will have just ended our first day of SandJam coverage. Hope to see some of you out there! Stay tuned for tons of festival coverage this month!
