Just a few minutes ago my brand new Apple Watch pinged – I looked down and boom there was the email announcing that the Levitate lineup was here. This fest is one that some of the LTFL team attended and loved before we even became the festival fiends that we are now.
Levitate Music and Arts Festival will take place July 10-12, 2020 at the historic Marshfield Fairgrounds in Marshfield Massachusetts. Levitate Festival grew out of a community oriented surf/skate shop and apparel line (by the same name) that is based out of Marshfield. The festival remains deeply rooted in all things surf, skate and art. Levitate Music Festival began when the Levitate brand threw itself a ten year anniversary party in 2013 – using the opportunity to bring out the community, celebrating music and arts. Through its founders efforts, the festival has grown into a major player and one of the premier grassroots festivals on the east coast. This year’s festival doesn’t appear to be straying from those roots.
So first of all – this poster is gorgeous. Ok ok . . . the only thing better than the poster is the lineup itself. This year’s fest is packed with some of our favorite roots, jam, folk and funk bands. And of course I was personally sold as soon as I saw that the Dirty Heads are on here. Other acts that pop out in our first review include Mt. Joy, Jade Bird, and Toots and The Maytals. Though honestly, I could keep going on and on. This lineup looks like a ton of fun and should definitely provide the opportunity to jam out and dance.
Oh wait . . . we didn’t even mention Jack Johnson – the fun that set will provide goes without saying of course.
As always, let us know if there are acts we should definitely not miss or if you want to share your awesome Levitate experiences from year’s past.
Stay tuned for more info on this one for us or check out some of our posts from last year.
