Next up on this snowy, cold (for most of the east coast) morning is Moon River.
Moon River Festival takes place in Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Yes, there is actually a river at the venue and it is beautiful!!!
I grew up a couple hours away, across the border in Asheville, NC, and spent a lot of time with my family in Chattanooga. It is a fun place to visit, especially if you love the outdoors. (more on that below).
This festival is cozy compared to some of its larger neighbors in the region, but from the research we have done at LTFL – the grounds, the food, and the experience are carefully curated. And it isn’t small on talent!! Seriously!!!
Brandi Carlile not only took home three Grammy awards last night – she also gave us an amazing live performance, that brought the crowd to its feet for a standing ovation. She is seriously talented.
Jason Isbell is also at the top of his game these days. I first heard of him from a friend who is a super fan. She kept encouraging me to listen to him, and then mailed me his album. And long story short, I should have listened to her and to Jason Isbell sooner.
The Moon River Experience:
From an outdoorsy perspective, this Festival has it all! The venue is not only riverfront, but Chattanooga itself is unique positioned between the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau – which basically means, gorgeous scenery everywhere you look.
The Festival itself boasts some unique outdoor experiences too. REI will be onsite with rock climbing and guided kayak and paddle boarding on the river.
